For the purposes of these General Terms and Conditions, “freight forwarder” means any business that, on behalf of and at the request of a client, arranges for the transport of goods—that is, organizes the shipment of goods—without being the carrier itself.
The organization of transport includes, in addition to the transport itself, related activities such as: storage of goods, customs formalities (declarations, etc.), inspection of goods, and the execution of provisions regarding the collection of amounts due to the principal (client).
The client is any legal entity and/or individual who owns and/or has the right to dispose of a quantity of goods and requests their transportation, including operations related to such transportation. The client is the party that pays or guarantees payment of the transportation charges and related operations.
Transportation is organized based on and under the terms of the freight forwarding contract concluded between the client and the freight forwarding company.
The client’s order submitted to the freight forwarding company, followed by its acceptance, is considered a concluded contract. The order and acceptance may be transmitted via email or telephone.
The order must contain the necessary details to enable the freight forwarding company to organize and carry out the transport, as well as related operations.
The freight forwarder is not obligated to verify the accuracy of the documents provided by the customer (commercial invoices, packing lists, etc.), as the customer is responsible for their preparation and accuracy.
The customer is required to provide the freight forwarder with precise written instructions if special delivery conditions for the goods are requested. The instructions are subject to the freight forwarder’s acceptance. However, they are deemed accepted if, after the freight forwarder receives them, they are carried out.
The service prices and quotes provided by I.B. Cargo are customized for each visitor who submits a request and are sent via email.
